The Brian May Archive of Stereoscopy has announced two free to attend online Zoom talks to celebrate International Stereoscopy Day on June 21st 2023.
‘Bordeaux: The Capital of Stereoscopy’. Free International 3-D Conference.
The first international conference of stereoscopic photography in Bordeaux, France, takes place from the 11th to 13th May 2023, with an exhibition from the 4th May to 22nd June 2023 at the Mériadeck Library.
Stereoscopic (3-D) Daguerreotypes
I thought I'd introduce you to stereoscopic daguerreotypes, one of the earliest forms of photography and stereoviews, and indeed, one of the most expensive and fragile too. You don't often come across them, but when you do, and you're lucky enough to see one of the beautifully tinted ones, you'll stop in your tracks in awe! They really are the jewels of stereoscopy.

World Stereoscopy Day, being held on the 21st June every year, is an international celebration of stereoscopic 3-D. Whilst everyone is encouraged to join in and celebrate in their own way, the website has just released a list of some of the events being held across the world to mark the occasion.

Workshop: Stereoscopic (3D) Photography with Film and Digital Cameras
The Royal Holloway, University of London, Student Union's Photography Society are holding a free workshop about how to take stereoscopic (3D) images with film and digital cameras. Attendees will be shown a variety of different ways to make their own stereoscopic images, using different cameras and techniques.
Salisbury Museum In-Person 3-D Talk: Henry Brooks & Sons – Salisbury Artists and Photographers
Local photographers and artists, the Brooks family, will be brought back to life, in 3-D, to support the Salisbury Museum on Thursday, March 17, 2022.

Two days before Valentine's Day, Saturday Feb 12th 2022 17:30 GMT, join photo historian Denis Pellerin, from the Brian May Archive of Stereoscope, for over an hour of 3-D images showing how the Victorians celebrated the main events of the year. Along the way you will discover some long-forgotten celebrations and how a tiny piece of paper revolutionised the lives of millions and did a lot to help commercialise some of these events.
