Two Free Online Talks to Celebrate Stereoscopy Day, 21st June

The Brian May Archive of Stereoscopy has announced two free to attend online Zoom talks to celebrate International Stereoscopy Day on June 21st 2023.

The first talk, in partnership with King’s College London’s Archives, starts at 3pm BST (GMT +1) and will be ‘Charles Wheatstone, Professor of Experimental Philosophy at King’s College, London’, focusing on the inventor of stereoscopy and his continuing association with King’s.

After the second talk, a video made by the Museum of Gloucester, especially for the event, will be shared to highlight their connections with local lad Charles Wheatstone.

The second talk by BMAS will be ‘Stereoscopy: They did it with Mirrors’, reflecting on the uses of mirrors in 3-D (sorry for the pun), starting at 6pm BST (GMT +1).

You can sign up for free through eventbrite until 1pm BST on the 20th June, with the Zoom link being sent by 3pm BST the same day:

The images will be shared in the side-by-side parallel-view format. If you need any help with how to view these online, or using Zoom, please see this post.
