To celebrate 5 years of Stereoscopy Day and 100 years of the Rolleidoscop stereoscopic camera, I would like to take you on a virtual stereoscopic 3-D tour of the legendary manufacturers Franke & Heidecke’s factory in Brunswick (Braunschweig), Germany, in 1938. Captured through the lenses of a Heidoscop and a Rolleidoscop, the fairly unique presentation set I’m sharing was photographed by Otto Schönstein and produced by his company Raumbild-Verlag for Franke & Heidecke, who later became known as Rollei.
The virtual tour is very kindly being hosted by long-time supporters of Stereoscopy Day, 35mmc, a community-authored blog about photography and cameras, edited and published by Hamish Gill, alongside a small core team.
