The Florence Nightingale Museum Announces New Online Event

The Florence Nightingale Museum have just announced that they are hosting Denis Pellerin, from the London Stereoscopic Archive, to give a Zoom talk entitled ‘The Mysteries Behind Florence Nightingale’s Iconic Photographs’. The talk will take place on Saturday 12th December at 3pm – 4.30pm GMT and is similar to the one given earlier this year, however Denis is putting together a new presentation. The talk is in 2-D but will feature Victorian stereo-photographers.

The Florence Nightingale Museum is a small museum located near St. Thomas’ Hospital, London, and is dedicated to the founder of modern nursing, English social reformer and statistician. 2020 is the celebration of Nightingale’s bicentenary but like most charities they’ve faced very difficult times in lockdown, which will still continue with social distancing and limited visitor numbers for the foreseeable future. The London Stereoscopic Archive are supporting the Museum by giving this 2-D Zoom talk ‘The Mysteries Behind Florence Nightingale’s Iconic Photographs’ and the attendance fee of £5.98 to register will be used to raise funds for the charity. All the details and registration can be found here.
