It's not every day you get to see Hobbits rubbing shoulders with Pikachu, Dr. Evils, the Red Arrows and Christmas leftovers to raise money for local charities. I hope that by capturing this quirky British tradition in 3-D, you get a sense of the wonderfully positive and fun atmosphere.
On Saturday 25th November 2023 Clifton Bridge and The Brian May Archive of Stereoscopy are offering workshops showing participants how to take their own 3-D photos with their smartphones, and afterwards Denis Pellerin, co-curator of The Brian May Archive of Stereoscopy will give a 3-D presentation to take viewers back to the Victorian era.
Join Watts Gallery curator Laura MacCulloch and the curators of the Brian May Archive of Stereoscopy Denis Pellerin and Rebecca Sharpe for highlights tours of Victorian Virtual Reality: Photographs from the Brian May Archive of Stereoscopy.
Denis Pellerin, from The Brian May Archive of Stereoscopy, will be sharing a selection of wonderful stereoscopic images in 3-D to show how the Victorians pushed the boundaries of photography to capture reality. Step back into the past with him on Saturday 7th October at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, UK.
Visitors to Watts Gallery, Compton, can drop-in to the studio and learn how to make their own 3-D prints at the world's first (known) stereoscopic cyanotype workshop.
