New Stereoviews Website from the Jonathan Ross Collection

Collector Jonathan Ross has made his collection of stereoviews accessible online for the first time.

Jonathan said: “After over thirty years of collecting stereoscopic photos, I decided to create an online database documenting my holdings, which I hope will be of interest to fellow collectors and photo historians.

As an initial offering you will find the work of the Genre specialists of the 1850s and 60s: James Elliott, Alfred Silvester, C.E.Goodman, J.Reynolds, Toby, Henri Lefort, James Eastlake, Samuel Poulton, The Gaudin Brothers, Michael Burr, along with Still Life and Group Studies by William England and T.R.Williams. Oh, and a collection of stereoscopic Cats.

In time I will add Landscape views by G.W.Wilson, William Russell Sedgfield and Francis Bedford, The International Exhibition of 1862 and a miscellany of other stereoscopic delights.  I expect to be scanning happily for years to come.”

You can visit Jonathan’s website here and the section dedicated to his stereographs here.

Thank you for this wonderful resource Jonathan! I appreciate how long it takes putting it all together. I especially love the 3-D kitty section, which you very kindly made sure was one of the first available šŸ˜‰

  1. Hi! I’ve got a Keystone collection of two handheld stereoscopes in a felt-lined wooden box with 200 WWI cards. This originally belonged to my parents and I was wondering if there is a market for such an item other than individual cards and stereoscopes on eBay.
