The Royal Photographic Society’s Historical Group are holding their annual Research Day online via Zoom this year on Saturday 14th November 2020 10:30am – 16:00pm GMT and anyone can attend. The day will present a series of papers of research in progress from photo-historians, students and others.
The first and Keynote speaker at 10.35am – 11.05am will be Denis Pellerin, from the London Stereoscopic Archive, giving a presentation on ‘Why Collect Stereo Photographs?’ There will be three 3-D viewing options available for the presentation:
- to view images side by side on smaller screens requires a lorgnette type viewer (Lite OWL, OWL or OWL VR kit); these can be bought from: https://shop.londonstereo.com/lsc-owl-viewer.html or you will find one inside an LSC book.
- for anaglyph formatted images, glasses can be acquired from eBay or Amazon. Please check that they are red and cyan anaglyph glasses and that the delivery will arrive before 14th November. Note that the red filter should be on the left eye.
- for the cross-eye view, no equipment is required: you just squint.
