  • Denis Pellerin will explore the occupations of 19th century women depicted in 3-D photographs: “Discover how a middle-class instrument, the Stereoscope, was often used to show working-class women photographed either in a studio or in their actual working environment. The curators from the Brian May Archive of Stereoscopy, reveal all, from its preparation to its dismantlement.”

Everyone is welcome to attend these Zoom talks. The images will be share in the side-by-side parallel-view format, so viewers such as the London Stereoscopic Company’s OWL viewers can be used. If you need any help with viewing online talks in 3-D, please see this post.

To attend, you need to register through EventBrite, and the signup can be found on the Stereoscopy Day Events page here. Please note registration closes at midday on 20th June 2024, and the Zoom event link (the same for both talks) will be sent around 1pm BST on 20th June 2024.

  1. Soooo disappointed not to be able to attend…but the 21st is a relative’s birthday, I also have a doctor’s appointment, AND there is that pesky other-side-of-the-world time difference! But Happy Stereoscopy Day to everyone…particularly Rebecca and Denis! Hopefully next time!
